The recent General Election signaled a major change in the political landscape in both California and the nation. The Democrats now hold a supermajority in the state Legislature and for the first time in years, California voters approved a tax increase in supporting Proposition 30. It even appears the state will see a surplus after years of struggling with deficits.

From his front-row seat, Mark Hedlund will provide his insights of the year ahead at the December 13 SiOC Holiday Luncheon. Mark is the Communications Director for Senate President Pro Tempore Darrell Steinberg. Prior to joining the state Senate in 2009, Mark spent 34 years working in print, radio and television, ending his news career at KXTV News 10 in Sacramento, where he spent 28 of those years.
